Cera Sanitaryware Ltd Faces Rs. 44.58 Million Demand Order from Deputy Commissioner, Gudur, Chittoor, Andhra Pradesh

Cera Sanitaryware Ltd has received a demand order under section 74 of CGST Act, 2017 and corresponding Section of Andhra Pradesh GST Act, 2017 for the tax of Rs. 20,21,225/-, and penalty amounting to Rs. 24,37,009/- aggregating to a total demand of Rs. 44,58,234/- for the financial year 2019-2020. The order was received on 30th March 2026 6:46 pm. The authority has alleged that the Company has short paid the taxes and availed excess Input Tax Credit. However, the Company believes that the demand is not maintainable and is in the process of filing an appeal against the order/demand. The Company has stated that there is no material impact on its financials, operations, or other activities.
