Vishal Mega Mart Subsidiary Penalized ₹4 Lakhs by Food Safety Authority

Airplaza Retail Holdings Private Limited, a subsidiary of Vishal Mega Mart Ltd, has been penalized ₹4,00,000 by the Court of Adjudicating Officer, Food Safety-cum-Additional District Magistrate (Revenue), Rayagada. The penalty was imposed following an inspection by the Food Safety Officer on May 19, 2025, which alleged violations of the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006. The company stated that the financial impact is limited to the penalty amount and there is no material impact on its operations. The subsidiary is reviewing the order and evaluating next steps.
