Ecopetrol acquires 49% stake in JK1 & JK2 wind projects for $25.5M

Ecopetrol S.A. has completed the acquisition of a 49% interest in the JK1 and JK2 wind projects, part of the Jemeiwaa Ka’I wind cluster in La Guajira, for approximately USD 25.5 million. These projects, with an assigned capacity of 259 MW, are expected to generate around 1,100 GWh annually, meeting about 12% of the Ecopetrol Group's energy demand. This move supports the company's energy transition strategy and is projected to reduce CO₂ emissions by 4.3 million tons equivalent. The acquisition of the remaining four projects in the cluster is pending.
