Microchip Armenia Secures US Export License for Advanced Tech
Microchip Technology's Armenian office has received an export license from the U.S. Department of Commerce's Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS). This authorization covers advanced technology under ECCN 3E001 and related high-performance hardware under ECCN 3A001.a.7.b, enabling the secure development of advanced semiconductor technologies in Armenia. Microchip is now the only multinational semiconductor company in Armenia with such a site license, a development expected to strengthen Armenia's role in the global semiconductor supply chain. This achievement is a direct result of the Memorandum of Understanding on Artificial Intelligence and Semiconductors signed between Armenia and the United States in August 2025.
