United Community Banks to Merge with Peach State Bancshares

United Community Banks, Inc. (United) and Peach State Bancshares, Inc. (Peach State) announced their entry into an Agreement and Plan of Merger. Under the terms, Peach State will merge with and into United, with United as the surviving corporation. Immediately following this, Peach State Bank & Trust, Peach State's wholly-owned subsidiary, will merge into United Community Bank, United's wholly-owned subsidiary.
