06 Aug 2026 · 6 Aug, 1:49 am
Summary
Akebia Therapeutics reported second quarter 2026 total revenues of $49.1 million, a decrease from $62.5 million in the prior year period, primarily due to lower Auryxia revenues, though Vafseo net product revenues increased to $21.3 million. The company reported a net loss of $8.9 million for the quarter, compared to a net income of $0.2 million in Q2 2025. Management highlighted the continued sequential revenue growth of Vafseo and positive VOICE trial results, while also advancing its rare kidney disease pipeline with the initiation of a Phase 2 basket trial for ebribafusp. Management Comments
John P. Butler
We’re pleased with Vafseo’s continued sequential revenue growth this quarter, as well as the recently announced positive VOICE trial results for the primary endpoint, which marks an important step in our ultimate goal of making Vafseo standard of care for the treatment of anemia in patients on dialysis. We also continue to make strong progress advancing our rare kidney disease pipeline with the initiation of our Phase 2 basket trial evaluating ebribafusp for the treatment of three rare glomerular kidney diseases, with initial data expected in 2027. Further, enrollment continues in our Phase 2 trial of praliciguat in FSGS.
