Management Comments
Johnny Lee
Our second quarter results reflected the continued strength of our core banking franchise as stable loan yields, strong loan originations and continued growth in retail deposits supported another quarter of solid profitability. We continued to improve the quality of our funding base through strong retail deposit growth while reducing our cost of deposits. Credit quality continued to improve, with nonperforming assets declining 11% from the prior quarter, and we remain focused on disciplined loan growth, relationship banking, and resolving problem assets to drive long-term shareholder value.
