SAIL's Chairman and Managing Director, Amarendu Prakash, Resigns Effective April 1, 2026

Steel Authority of India Ltd (SAIL) announced the resignation of its Chairman and Managing Director, Amarendu Prakash, with effect from April 1, 2026. Prakash has served the company for 34 years and has been in the current position since January 15, 2026. The resignation was submitted on January 2, 2026, and the government has approved it. Krishna Kumar Singh, Director (Personnel), SAIL, has been given additional charge of the post of Chairman and Managing Director for a period of 3 months from April 2, 2026, or until the appointment and joining of the regular incumbent to the post.
