SAIL Chairman and Managing Director, Amarendu Prakash, Resigns Effective April 1, 2026

Steel Authority of India Ltd (SAIL) announced the resignation of its Chairman and Managing Director, Amarendu Prakash, with effect from April 1, 2026. Prakash has served the company for 34 years and has been in the current position since January 15, 2026. The resignation was submitted after considerable reflection and Prakash is confident that the company is well-positioned for continued progress. The Ministry of Steel has approved the resignation and Krishna Kumar Singh, Director (Personnel), SAIL, has been given additional charge of the post for a period of 3 months or until the appointment and joining of the regular incumbent.
