DIC India receives ₹17.32 Lac GST demand order; plans review

DIC India Ltd has received a demand order dated April 9, 2026, from the Joint Commissioner of Commercial Taxes (Appeals-8), Bangalore. The order confirms an earlier adjudication, demanding a total of ₹17,32,208, which includes ₹8,14,112 in GST, ₹8,36,684 in interest, and ₹81,412 in penalty. This demand relates to alleged mismatches in GSTR 2A and GSTR 3B, denial of Input Tax Credit on blocked credit, and GST on recovery of R&D expenses from a foreign entity for the period July 2017 to March 2018. DIC India considers the order arbitrary and its contentions unaddressed, stating the demands are unsustainable. The company is currently reviewing the order to determine its next steps.
