Bharti Airtel Ltd. has received notices from the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) in Assam and Karnataka Licensing Areas (LSA) imposing penalties for alleged violations of subscriber verification norms. The Assam LSA notice imposes a penalty of Rs.6,32,000, while the Karnataka LSA notice imposes a penalty of Rs.2,02,000, totaling Rs.8,34,000. The notices were received on April 08, 2026. The alleged violations were identified during the Customer Application Form Audit (CAF Audit) conducted by DoT for the quarters ending December 2025 and February 2026. Bharti Airtel does not agree with the Assam LSA notice and plans to take appropriate action for rectification or reversal. However, the company has opted not to contest the Karnataka LSA notice and will pay the penalty.
