Canara Bank Announces Promotion of Five General Managers to Chief General Managers

Canara Bank, a leading public sector bank in India, has announced the promotion of five General Managers (GMs) to the position of Chief General Managers (CGMs) with effect from 01.04.2026. The executives and their new assignments are as follows: 1. Shri Subodh Kumar, currently on deputation to LIC of India, Mumbai as CVO, has been promoted to CGM. He joined the Bank on 07.03.1994 and has a diverse experience in handling Large Corporate Branch, International Division, Regional Offices and Branches. 2. Shri R Rajesh, currently handling Credit & Prepaid Cards Vertical, Technology Services Wing, Head Office, Bengaluru, has been promoted to CGM. He joined the Bank on 15.07.1991 and has operational exposure in Digital Banking Services, Large Corporate Branch, Department of Information Technology and Staff Administration Section. 3. Shri Sreekant M Bhandiwad, currently on deputation to Karnataka Gramina Bank as Chairman, has been promoted to CGM. He joined the Bank on 06.06.1994 and has experience in handling Branches, ROs, COs and Head Office Level. He is heading Karnataka Gramina Bank as Chairman since 01.05.2025. 4. Shri I Panduranga Mithanthaya, currently heading Tirupati Circle, has been promoted to CGM. He has 36 plus years of banking experience and has worked at London Branch of the Bank during period from 02.07.2012 to 29.04.2016. He has also worked at Regional Offices from 03.12.2018 to 22.04.2022 and Circle Offices from 25.04.2022. He is heading Tirupati Circle Office since 05.04.2024. 5. Shri Manoj Kumar Das, currently heading Chandigarh Circle, has been promoted to CGM. He has 37 plus years of banking experience and has administrative experience of working at various Circle Offices and handling Gold Loan Vertical at head office level.
