
Government Grants BHEL Five-Year Relaxation on Procurement from Land Border Sharing Countries
Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL) has received a communication from the Department of Expenditure (DoE), Ministry of Finance, granting relaxation under Rule 144(xi) of GFR for a period of five years. This relaxation is for the procurement of 21 items from entities representing countries sharing land borders with India. The communication was forwarded by the administrative ministry on 31st December 2025, seeking details of the equipment/items where procurement is being done from other than Land border sharing countries due to the GFR rule 144(XI). BHEL provided the necessary inputs on 6th January 2026. This move is not in response to any negotiations and BHEL is not aware of any information that has not been announced to the Exchanges which could explain the movement in the trading.
