Hitachi Energy India Ltd Faces INR 2,00,000 Fine for PIMS Submission Beyond Prescribed Period
Sep 27 2024 | a year agoHitachi Energy India Ltd has been imposed a redemption fine of INR 2,00,000 by the Joint Commissioner of Customs, Office of The Pr. Commissioner of Customs, NS-Il, Mumbai Customs Zone — II, Jawahar Lal Nehru Custom House. The company submitted PIMS (Paper Import Monitoring System) beyond the period prescribed by the DGFT notification no. 11/2015-20 dated 25' May, 2022. The goods were imported under Bill of Entry number 5279242 dated August 27, 2024, but the PIMS registration was done only 2 days before the vessel arrival, which is beyond the prescribed period. This has resulted in the goods being liable to confiscation under Section 111(d) and the company being liable to penalty under Section 112(a) of the Customs Act, 1962.
