Bharat Electronics Ltd Secures Rs.2,463 Crore Order for Ashwini Radars from Indian Air Force

Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), a Navratna Defence Public Sector Undertaking, has signed a contract with the Ministry of Defence valued at Rs.2,463 Crore (excluding taxes) for the supply and services of Ashwini Radars. These radars, developed jointly by DRDO and BEL, are fully indigenous AESA radars with integrated IFF and electronic scanning in azimuth and elevation. They are capable of 4D surveillance and can automatically detect and track aerial targets ranging from fighter aircrafts to slow moving targets. BEL has accumulated orders totalling Rs.17,030 Crore in the current financial year with this contract.
