GLOBALFOUNDRIES Partners with US DOE Genesis Mission for AI Chip Design

GLOBALFOUNDRIES (GF) announced a strategic partnership with the U.S. Department of Energy's Genesis Mission, an initiative focused on accelerating scientific discovery through artificial intelligence and advanced computing. Through this agreement, GF will provide its U.S. manufacturing platform and design enablement resources to Genesis Mission researchers, offering a direct path from AI-enabled chip design to working prototype silicon for National Laboratories, universities, industry partners, and startups. GF Labs will spearhead the collaboration, which includes access to GF's technology platforms, process design kits, and prototype fabrication through its multi-project wafer program, aiming to advance next-generation technologies like silicon photonics and quantum computing.
