Joby Aviation to Acquire Resonant Sciences for $500M

Joby Aviation, Inc. announced a definitive agreement to acquire Resonant Sciences, a defense technology company, for approximately $500 million. This acquisition is set to significantly expand Joby's defense business, with Resonant becoming a dedicated defense unit and continuing its existing programs while integrating Joby's hybrid aircraft and autonomy technologies. Resonant Sciences reported over $100 million in trailing-twelve-month revenue, representing approximately 40% year-over-year growth, and strong adjusted EBITDA generation. The transaction, expected to close in the first half of 2027, will be funded with $450 million in cash and $50 million in Joby common stock.
