Otter Tail Power Files 2026 IRP; Plans 150MW New Capacity, Coal Exit

Otter Tail Power Company, a subsidiary of Otter Tail Corp, filed its 2026 Integrated Resource Plan (IRP) with the Minnesota Public Utilities Commission. The plan outlines strategies to meet customer energy needs over the next 15 years, including the addition of 150 megawatts of new natural gas and wind generation capacity by 2040. The IRP also details ongoing projects like the 50MW Solway Solar and 295MW Abercrombie Solar, and confirms the designation of the Coyote Station coal plant as an emergency resource, with a full exit from serving Minnesota customers by 2031.
