Banglalink Gets PSP License, Targets Mukto Pay Launch Sept 2026

VEON's Bangladesh subsidiary, Banglalink, has secured a Payment Service Provider (PSP) license from Bangladesh Bank, enabling its entry into the country's digital payments market. Banglalink plans to commercially launch its new digital payment service, Mukto Pay, in September 2026. This initiative is part of VEON's "Invest in Bangladesh NOW" framework, which includes an initial $250 million investment and aims to attract $1 billion in foreign direct investment to advance digital services in Bangladesh. The move aligns with VEON's strategy to expand its digital financial services, which saw a 53.6% YoY increase in digital revenue to $342 million in Q2 2026.
