Protolabs announced the appointment of Bernardo Parlange as Chief Commercial Officer (CCO), a newly created role effective May 18, 2026. Mr. Parlange will oversee the company's global commercial strategy, including sales, marketing, and customer success, to accelerate revenue performance and support growth. Concurrently, Michael R. Kenison, Chief Operations Officer, plans to retire effective July 1, 2026, after two decades of service during which he significantly expanded the company's manufacturing operations.

Proto Labs reported strong financial results for the first quarter of 2026, with revenue increasing to $139.3 million, a 10.4% rise compared to the same period in the prior year. Net income more than doubled to $8.1 million, up from $3.6 million in Q1 2025, resulting in diluted earnings per share of $0.33. The company also saw an increase in cash and cash equivalents and a significant reduction in its effective income tax rate.
