Aarti Drugs Ltd. to Voluntarily Close Chlorosulfonation Process at T-150 Unit Following Gas Leak Incident

Aarti Drugs Ltd. has received Voluntary Closure Directions from Maharashtra Pollution Control Board (MPCB) to close down the chlorosulfonation process at PTSCL section in its T-150 unit situated at Tarapur, Maharashtra. This decision comes after an HCI gas leakage incident on September 8, 2025, during the chlorosulfonation process. Although there were no injuries or casualties, the Company has been directed to take this precautionary measure and safety purpose. The closure will not have any financial or material impact on the Company as they have enough inventory and can procure the product from other suppliers if required. The manufacturing of other products at the T-150 unit will remain operational. The Company will conduct a safety audit and obtain the necessary approvals from MPCB and Directorate of Industrial Safety and Health (DISH).
