Aarti Drugs Plant Closure Order Revoked by GPCB; ₹10.2 Lakh Fine Levied

Aarti Drugs Ltd announced the revocation of a closure order issued by the Gujarat Pollution Control Board (GPCB) for its plant located at Sayakha. The GPCB had previously issued closure directions under Section 33A of the Water Act due to observed non-compliances during an inspection on June 20, 2026. The company applied for revocation, which has now been granted, allowing operations to continue. As an interim measure, the GPCB has levied an Environmental Damage Compensation (EDC) of ₹10,20,000/- under the 'Polluter Pays' Principle. The company states there is no impact on its financial or operational activities.
