Atul Auto Ltd. Changes Electric Vehicle Brand Name Amidst Ongoing Litigation

Atul Auto Ltd. and its subsidiary, Atul Greentech Private Limited, have been involved in a trademark infringement lawsuit with M/s. Exxon Mobil Corporation. The lawsuit pertains to the use of the brand 'Mobil' for their electric passenger vehicles. In response to an ex-parte interim order and a stay, the Company filed an appeal before the Divisional Bench of the Hon’ble High Court of Delhi. The appeal was disposed of, and the stay was vacated, with the court directing the parties to file replies/ rejoinders by May 24, 2025. The interim injunction application is scheduled for hearing on May 26, 2025. In light of these developments, Atul Auto Ltd. has decided to market its L5 category electric passenger vehicles under the brand 'ATUL RIK', which is a registered trademark of the company. Necessary amendments have been made to the ARAI Approval Certificate and Vahan portal to reflect the change in brand name.
