Balrampur Chini Mills Launches Bioplastics Initiative
Balrampur Chini Mills Limited (BCML) and the Lucknow Cantonment Board have launched Bioyug Green Command 2026, a platform to advance India's bioplastics ecosystem. The initiative, launched on World Environment Day, was inaugurated by Defence Minister Shri Rajnath Singh Ji. This collaboration follows an MoU and an initial order for compostable PLA-based products. The program aims to demonstrate how sustainable materials can reduce plastic waste and contribute to India's environmental goals. It also includes a women-focused initiative in Lakhimpur Kheri for 3D printing skills using Bioyug PLA. The event featured panel discussions on scaling the bioplastics value chain and their application in defence.
