Bharat Coking Coal: NGT Kolkata Disposes Environmental Plea

Bharat Coking Coal Ltd has been informed that the National Green Tribunal (NGT), Eastern Zone Bench, Kolkata, has disposed of Original Application No. 57/2023/EZ, Ajay Rajak v. Ministry of Coal & Ors. The application alleged violations of the Environment Protection Act, 1986, concerning illegal mining at Central Surunga Paharigora, Parbad Laxmi Colliery, and other sites in Dhanbad, Jharkhand. The Tribunal declined to exercise parallel jurisdiction as identical reliefs are pending before the Hon'ble High Court of Jharkhand at Ranchi. This filing serves as a continuation of previously disclosed litigation.
