Airtel flags 8 billion spam calls, 0.8 billion spam SMSes in 2.5 months

Bharti Airtel, India’s first spam-fighting network, has identified close to 1 million spammers every day within two and a half months of launching its Al-powered, spam-fighting solution. The company has alerted close to 252 million unique customers to these suspicious calls, resulting in a 12% decline in the number of customers answering them. The findings also reveal that 76% of all spam calls have been targeted at male customers and customers in the age bracket of 36-60 have received 48% of all spam calls.
