Bharti Hexacom Fined ₹2.52 Lakhs for Subscriber Verification Lapses

Bharti Hexacom Limited has received a notice from the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) imposing a penalty of ₹252,000 for alleged violations of subscriber verification norms. The penalty stems from a Customer Application Form (CAF) Audit conducted by DoT for the quarter ending March 2026, which identified non-compliance with license agreement terms regarding customer verification. The company states that the maximum financial impact is limited to the penalty amount. However, this penalty is currently at a higher rate and is sub-judice before the Hon’ble TDSAT.
