Birla Corp Subsidiary Receives ₹15 Cr GST Show Cause Notice

Birla Corporation Ltd's wholly owned subsidiary, RCCPL Private Limited, has received a Show Cause Notice (SCN) from the Additional Commissioner, Central Goods & Services Tax and Central Excise, Jabalpur. The notice pertains to the alleged availment of excess/ineligible Input Tax Credit amounting to ₹15,02,51,383/- for the financial year 2022-23, along with applicable interest and penalty. The SCN is related to the non-reflection of Bills of Entry in GSTR-2B within the statutory time limits. The company believes the SCN lacks merit and intends to submit its defense. At present, there is no expected financial impact on RCCPL's operations.
