Brigade Enterprises Objects to EC Revocation for Chennai Project

The company deems the revocation by the State Level Environment Impact Assessment Authority (SEIAA) as legally unsustainable, factually incorrect, and arbitrary. Brigade asserts that the project is on private patta lands, not wetlands, and highlights that no objections were raised during public notices or a recent Public Interest Litigation (PIL) dismissed by the Madras High Court. The company was not given prior notice or a hearing before the revocation, which has impacted substantial investments and ongoing construction. Brigade is appealing the order and exploring legal remedies, noting this issue could affect other projects and landowners in South Chennai.
