NCLT Dismisses Insolvency Plea Against Burnpur Cement

Burnpur Cement Limited announced that the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT), Kolkata Bench, dismissed an application filed by Mittal Pollypacks Private Limited, an operational creditor, under Section 9 of the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, 2016. The NCLT's order, dated April 20, 2026, rules in favor of Burnpur Cement, ensuring the company is not subject to insolvency proceedings and can continue its operations as a going concern. The operational creditor had sought to initiate Corporate Insolvency Resolution Process over an alleged unpaid debt of ₹2,25,61,792 for supplied cement bags.
