Caliber Mining Revises Diesel Price Compensation Mechanism
Caliber Mining And Logistics Ltd has announced a revision in the mechanism for compensating diesel price variations under its mining service contracts with subsidiaries of Coal India Limited (CIL), including Western Coalfields Limited (WCL) and Northern Coalfields Limited (NCL). Effective retrospectively from March 20, 2026, compensation will now be based on the actual bulk diesel price paid, including transportation costs, rather than the retail pump price. The company will receive 100% compensation for increases in diesel prices over the tender assumption, based on standard consumption norms linked to work done. Fortnightly payments of up to 75% of work value will continue, with final settlement in monthly bills. This revised mechanism replaces interim arrangements and aims to better reflect the significant increase in diesel prices experienced since March 2026.
