
Castrol India Launches First CSR Skilling Centre in Kolkata
Castrol India Limited, in association with Smile Foundation, has launched its first skilling centre under the 'Ujjwal Kal' CSR program in Kolkata. The centre aims to equip young adults from economically disadvantaged communities with future-ready skills in digital technologies, AI, retail, and beauty & wellness. It will also provide communication, digital literacy training, recognized certificates, and placement assistance. Launched in 2021, 'Ujjwal Kal' focuses on youth upskilling, women empowerment, and community development. In 2025, the program benefited nearly 5,000 individuals, with young women comprising 85% of participants. The initiative targets individuals aged 18-28 and aims for a 50-55% graduate employment or self-employment rate.
