Chambal Fertilisers & Chemicals Ltd has provided an update on orders passed by the Income Tax Department levying penalties. Following previous letters regarding penalties under the Income Tax Act, 1961, the company received orders-in-appeal on July 13, 2026. These upheld penalties of ₹58,27,971 and ₹1,35,24,064, totaling ₹1,93,52,035. The penalties relate to the disallowance of Education Cess and Secondary & Higher Education Cess. The company states there is no impact on its financial or operational activities beyond the penalty amounts and intends to challenge these orders before the appropriate authority, believing it has a strong case on merits.
