Coal India & AM Green Sign MoU for India's Largest RE Supply Contract of 4500 MW

Coal India Limited (CIL) and AM Green Ammonia (India) Private Limited have signed a non-binding memorandum of understanding (MoU) for a long-term supply and sourcing of renewable energy. CIL plans to supply 4500 MW of carbon-free energy to AM Green's upcoming green ammonia facilities. This initiative aligns with India’s national goal of achieving a cleaner energy mix and transition towards net-zero emissions. The renewable energy will be supplied through a combination of solar and wind, with potential sites for wind projects in the southern states and solar plants in Gujarat and Rajasthan. The estimated total outlay for the project is around Rs. 25,000 Crores.
