Stay Order by Punjab & Haryana High Court Halts Tariff Revision for Dee Development Engineers' Abohar Plant
Dee Development Engineers Ltd. has announced a regulatory update regarding the tariff revision for its Abohar Plant (8 MW). The Punjab & Haryana High Court has stayed the operation of the Punjab State Electricity Regulatory Commission's order dated 20 August, 2025, which had revised the tariff downward. As a result, the company will continue to supply electricity to PSPCL at the prevailing tariff of 27.47 per unit. Any recovery claimed by PSPCL on account of tariff differential will remain withheld until the final disposal of the matter by the Hon’ble High Court. The company had initially sought an upward revision of tariff due to rising operational costs and market conditions. The PSERC, however, revised the tariff downward to 5.26/unit, effective retrospectively from 1 January, 2024. The Hon’ble High Court's stay order maintains the prevailing tariff, pending final adjudication.
