Diligent Media Corporation Faces Rs. 68 Lakh Tax Demand from GST Department

Diligent Media Corporation Ltd. has received an order from the Office of the Assistant Commissioner of State Tax, Mumbai, Goods and Services Tax Department, demanding tax and imposing penalty/interest amounting to Rs. 68,94,878/- (Rupees Sixty Eight Lakhs Ninety Four Thousand Eight Hundred and Seventy Eight only) on the alleged undeclared turnover of Pri-Media Services Pvt. Ltd. for the period from April 2018 to March 2019. The Company had filed an application for rectification of the demand order before the GST Department, but was directed to comply with the demand. The Company is now seeking legal opinion and intends to challenge the demand before the appropriate appellate authority.
