
Dish TV India Ltd. Faces Civil Appeal Petition from ADG (Adj.) DRI over Differential Duty Dispute
Dish TV India Ltd. has been served with a Civil Appeal Petition by the Additional Director General (Adjudication), Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI), Delhi, before the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India. This is in relation to a dispute over a demand for differential duty amounting to Rs. 56.47 crore, along with applicable interest and an equivalent penalty. The demand was confirmed by the ADG (Adj.) DRI, Delhi, via an order dated April 28, 2020. The Company had previously filed an appeal before the Hon’ble CESTAT, Delhi, challenging this order, which was allowed by the CESTAT on September 23, 2025, setting aside the impugned Order. However, the ADG (Adj.) DRI, Delhi, has now filed a Civil Appeal Petition before the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India against the CESTAT's order.
