Esab India receives ₹37.99 Lac tax demand with interest & penalty

Esab India Limited has received an order dated April 30, 2026, from the Deputy Commissioner of Revenue, State Tax, West Bengal. The order demands a total payment of ₹37,99,846, which includes tax, interest, and penalty, for alleged discrepancies related to Input Tax Credit availed during the financial year 2022-23. The authority identified short payment of taxes and excess claim of Input Tax Credits in both CGST and SGST. Esab India plans to appeal the order and has stated that the demand amount will not have a material impact on the company's financial, operational, or other activities.
