Finolex Cables receives tax order; Rs 1.3 Lakh demand

Finolex Cables Ltd has received an order from the Additional Commissioner, Grade-II Appeal, Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, dated June 9, 2026. The order pertains to a tax demand of Rs 1,29,698, comprising tax, interest, and penalty, due to a mismatch in invoice details on e-way bills. The company had submitted that technical glitches led to double e-way bills being generated, with goods movement on only one. However, the Commissioner Appeals confirmed the order, stating the unused e-way bills were not cancelled within the stipulated time. Finolex Cables has the option to file an appeal before the Appellate Authority. The company stated that the demand is not having a major impact on its operations.
