
GRSE Signs Contract for Construction of Two Additional Multi-Purpose Vessels in Germany
Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers Ltd (GRSE) has signed a contract with Carsten Rehder Schiffsmakler and Reederei GmbH & Co. KG Germany for the construction and delivery of two additional 7,500 DWT Multi-Purpose Vessels (MPV). This contract is in line with the ‘Option Agreement’ signed between both the parties for procurement of four additional MPVs from GRSE. The shipyard will build a total of eight vessels at an approx. order value of 108 MUSD. Each MPV will be 120 metres long and 17 metres wide with a maximum draft of 6.75 metres. It can carry 7,500 metric tonnes of cargo. The agreement for 7th & 8th MPV was signed between Cdr Prasenijit Roy, IN (Retd), Deputy General Manager (Commercial Shipbuilding), GRSE and Mr Thomas Rehder, Managing Director, M/s Carsten Rehder in the presence of Cmde PR Hari, IN (Retd), Chairman & Managing Director, GRSE, Mr Jonas Meinhardt, Managing Director, M/s Carsten Rehder and other senior officials.
