Godavari Biorefineries Receives ₹17 Cr GST Demand Notice

Godavari Biorefineries Ltd has received a show cause notice from the Assistant Commissioner of Central GST, demanding ₹17,02,29,150 in GST on the supply of Extra Neutral Alcohol (ENA) for the period 2021-22 to October 2024. The company supplied ENA to Karnataka State Beverages Corporation Ltd. (KSBCL) without payment of GST, classifying it as 'exempted supply'. The company is currently examining the notice and plans to take appropriate legal steps, including filing replies or appeals. The total demand includes CGST and SGST of approximately ₹8.51 crore each.
