Grauer & Weil India Ltd. Receives Court Order Rejecting Petition Against MPCB Directions

Grauer & Weil India Ltd. has received an order from the Hon’ble Bombay High Court, dismissing a petition challenging the Maharashtra Pollution Control Board (MPCB) directions under Section 33(A) of the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 & under Section 31(A) of the Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981. The order, received on 20th March, 2025, directs the competent authorities to disconnect the electricity and water supply to the Mall and initiate further action including prosecution for non-compliance with respect to Environment Clearance, Consent to Establish/Operate. The Company is taking legal measures in response to this order, which may result in fines and penalties if relief is not granted. The order is expected to impact the operations of the Mall division, but not other activities of the company.
