Gujarat Gas & Waree Energy Collaborate for Sustainable Energy Solutions and Carbon Footprint Reduction

Gujarat Gas Limited has signed a Gas Sales Agreement with Waree Energy for the supply of 50,000 scmd of PNG to Waree's Lithium-ion cells manufacturing unit at Valsad, Gujarat. This partnership aims to provide sustainable energy solutions and reduce the carbon footprint, contributing significantly to sustainability and empowering a greener future. The plant is under construction and expected to be commissioned in Q4 of FY 25-26. India's import dependence on lithium-ion batteries is projected to drop to 20% by FY 2026-27. Lithium-ion batteries are commonly used in electric vehicles, portable electronics, and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). Waaree Energies Limited is India's largest manufacturer of solar PV modules with an aggregate installed capacity of 13.3 GW, and it provides cost-effective sustainable energy solutions across 20+ countries. Gujarat Gas Limited, under the aegis of the Government of Gujarat, is India's largest City Gas Distribution Company, supplying gas to over 22.67 lakh households, 4000+ industrial units, and operating 828+ CNG stations.
