Gujarat Themis Biosyn Limited (GTBL) has successfully acquired 100% equity in MicroBiopharm Japan Co., Ltd. (MBJ) through its subsidiary, Themis Biosyn Japan Limited. The acquisition, valued at JPY 21.5 billion, was funded by a mix of debt and equity, with GTBL investing INR 475 Crores in capital and INR 745 Crores via loan to its subsidiary. MBJ, with over 60 years of experience, operates three GMP-compliant manufacturing plants and reported FY26 revenue of JPY 9.5 billion. This strategic move is expected to enhance GTBL's fermentation capabilities, product portfolio, and global footprint, positioning it as a fermentation-based, globally integrated CDMO. The acquisition is anticipated to be EPS accretive for GTBL.
