HFCL Approves ₹820 Cr Capacity Expansion for Optical Fiber Products

HFCL Ltd announced an additional capacity expansion of 4.60 Mn Fiber Kms per annum for Optical Fiber, 5.64 Mn Fiber Kms per annum for Optical Fiber Cable, and 300 MT per annum for Preform. The estimated capital expenditure for this expansion is approximately ₹820 crore, bringing the total planned capital expenditure for capacity enhancement initiatives to approximately ₹1,800 crore. This expansion is driven by a strong order book, a robust pipeline of business opportunities, and a favorable long-term global demand outlook for optical communication infrastructure. The increased capacities are strategically aligned with growing market demands and will strengthen HFCL's position as a leading integrated manufacturer. The expansion projects are expected to be completed by July and October 2028, funded through a mix of internal accruals, debt, and proceeds from warrant issues.
