HAL & Safran Sign Deal for Aravalli Helicopter Engine

Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) and Safran Helicopter Engines have signed a final contract with SAFHAL Helicopter Engines Pvt. Ltd. for the development and production of the new-generation 'Aravalli' helicopter engine. This engine, in the 3,500 to 4,000 shp power class, is slated to power HAL's upcoming 13-ton Indian Multi-Role Helicopter (IMRH) and its naval variant. The Aravalli engine symbolizes India's drive for self-reliance in aerospace propulsion. This collaboration, a joint venture between HAL and Safran, aims to leverage combined expertise for advanced propulsion technologies, with potential for future civil market applications and boosting indigenous MRO capabilities. This marks a significant milestone for India's aerospace and defence sector.
