Hindustan Organic Chemicals Ltd Temporarily Shuts Down Cumene Plant Due to Discontinuation of LPG Supply from BPCL

Hindustan Organic Chemicals Ltd (HOCL) has announced a temporary shutdown of its Cumene Plant from 11th March 2026. This decision comes after the Government of India directed all Public Sector Oil manufacturing companies to ensure that LPG procured or marketed by Public Sector Companies is supplied exclusively to domestic LPG consumers. BPCL, the bulk LPG supplier of HOCL, has discontinued the LPG supply, which is the primary source for supplying feedstock to HOCL. The disruption in LPG supply has led to a force majeure condition, compelling the company to shut down the Cumene Plant. The Hydrogen Peroxide plant, however, will continue to operate as usual. HOCL is closely monitoring the situation and will provide necessary updates, including the reopening of the plant, to the BSE.
