Hindustan Organic Chemicals Ltd Temporarily Shuts Down Phenol Plant Due to Discontinuation of LPG Supply

Hindustan Organic Chemicals Ltd (HOCL) has submitted a plant shutdown intimation due to the discontinuation of LPG supply from BPCL. The LPG supplied by BPCL is the primary source for supplying feedstock to HOCL, and any disruption in LPG directly affects the plant operations. The Kochi unit in Kerala, which is the only manufacturing unit of the company, is engaged in manufacturing Phenol, Acetone, and Hydrogen Peroxide. The temporary shutdown of the Phenol Plant is a force majeure event arising from the directions issued by the Government of India and is beyond the control of the company. The likely impact of this force majeure on the company cannot be estimated at this point in time. The Hydrogen Peroxide plant of the company will continue to operate as usual.
