ICICI Lombard Acquires 0.03% Stake in HDFC Bank for ₹ 0.61 Billion

ICICI Lombard General Insurance Company Ltd. has acquired shares of HDFC Bank Limited, India's largest private sector bank, for ₹ 0.61 billion. The acquisition does not constitute a related party transaction and has been made in the ordinary course of investment function of the Company. The investment has been made in multiple tranches over a period of time. Post acquisition, the cumulative holding of the Company in HDFC Bank is 0.03%. HDFC Bank, incorporated on August 30, 1994, offers a wide range of banking services covering commercial and investment banking on the wholesale side and transactional / branch banking on the retail side. The bank had a turnover of ₹ 4709.16 billion in 2024-25, ₹ 4079.94 billion in 2023-24, and ₹ 2046.66 billion in 2022-23. The bank is registered and operates in India.
