Indraprastha Gas: Kumar Shanker Appointed New MD

Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL) announced the appointment of Shri Kumar Shanker as its new Managing Director, effective June 05, 2026. Shanker, nominated by promoter GAIL (India) Limited, replaces Shri Kamal Kishore Chatiwal. Shanker brings over 31 years of experience in the natural gas industry, with a background in chemical engineering from B.I.T.S. Pilani. His expertise spans operations, project management, corporate strategy, marketing, and regulatory functions, including significant contributions to policy changes and the introduction of Unified Tariff for the National Gas Grid. He previously served as MD of Maharashtra Natural Gas Limited.
